Fall is a wonderful time of year here in Central Ohio and it is jam packed with so much to do. The following are just a few of our favorite can\u2019t miss activities happening in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visit the sunflowers at Tecumseh Land Trust. <\/a> The field is on US-68 on your way to Yellow Springs, Ohio (about a 45 minute drive). This year the sunflowers are expected to bloom between August 30th \u2013 September 13th (check their Facebook page for full details). Get your camera ready and head to the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Take a road trip to Lancaster, Ohio for the inaugural Covered Bridge Festival <\/a>located in Alley Park on September 14th-15th. This free festival features two days of live music and family-friendly activities. Explore one of the county\u2019s most iconic covered bridges and take a stroll through one of the region\u2019s most picturesque sites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check out Harvest Blooms<\/a> at the Franklin Park Conservatory<\/a> from September 21st \u2013 October 27th. Stroll amongst a colorful display of mums, ornamental kale, and decorative pumpkins to feel fall in all it\u2019s glory!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check out the Columbus Commons Harvest Fair<\/a> on Saturday, September 28th. There will be pumpkins, games, crafts, and inflatables! The event is free to attend; a $5 hand stamp will grant you access to all of the inflatables and the pumpkin patch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be a part of the Columbus Buddy Walk<\/a> on Sunday, September 29th. Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show your support, head out to the new location: The Fortress, to help raise funds for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stop by Chalk the Block<\/a> at Easton on October 5th from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. This event features artists working to transform a 10\u2032 square space into a work of chalk art. This year, Chalk the Block will add 8′ chalk cubes, a kids chalking activity, and a large feature area celebrating the 20th anniversary of Easton Town Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go apple picking at Legend Hills Orchard<\/a> in Utica, Ohio. This apple orchard is filled with mature apple trees set amongst rolling hills, which makes for a beautiful apple picking experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Find the perfect pumpkin at Schacht Farm Market<\/a> in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Schacht Farm offers a large u-pick field and provides a low key pumpkin picking experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check out the haunted greenhouse at DeMonye\u2019s Greenhouse<\/a> from October 1st \u2013 31st. Decorate pumpkins, play in a corn sensory pit, make your way through a haystack maze or the haunted walk. The best part is, this experience isn\u2019t weather dependent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head down to The Circleville Pumpkin Show.<\/a> Ohio\u2019s oldest festival will be held on October 16th \u2013 19th this year. Find everything pumpkin related you could ever want! (Full disclosure: We have never been, but it is always on our list.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boo at the Zoo at the Columbus Zoo<\/a> is a \u201cmerry-not-scary\u201d event. The zoo will be transformed into a Halloween wonderland during the weekends of October 11th\u201313th, 18th-20th, and 25th\u201327th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take in the fall sights at one of the 19 Columbus Metro Parks<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
